What We Believe...
We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God and our only authority and source in all matters of doctrine, practice and conduct.
We believe the fundamental truths of the Christian faith, that is the Unity of God in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit; we believe in the Virgin Birth, Sinless Life, Atoning Death, Bodily Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus Christ; His coming for the Church and His return to the earth in power and glory.
We believe that all are sinners by nature and that we should preach to all people the gospel of free salvation through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose death reconciles us to God.
We believe that those who accept Christ as their Saviour become possessors of everlasting life.
We believe that there are two ordinances instituted in the New Testament, these being: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper which is also known as Communion or the Breaking of Bread Service.
We practice baptism of believers by immersion, this being the symbolic act by which true Christians publicly confess their faith in Christ. (Matthew 28 v 19, Acts 2 v 38)
We observe the Lord’s Supper every Sunday, as we consider that it is not only the privilege but also the responsibility of every believer to come together in “remembrance of the Lord’s death until He comes”. (Luke 22 v 17-19; Acts 2 v 42; 1 Corinthians 11 v 23-26)
The Vision of Bethesda Chapel is that all members, as committed Christians seek to live out lives that reflect: "Sharing the Message of Jesus Christ with Compassion"
