The Bible - Find out more...

As part of our Centenary Celebrations it has been a delight to deliver a copy of Luke and Acts to every household that wanted one in Dinas Powys, offering people an opportunity to experience its truth and relevance in today’s world firsthand.
This book may look small, but we believe it has the potential to transform your lives as you encounter God in its pages - a God who loves you and wants the best for you!
Luke and Acts are two books of the Bible. Both are written by one man keen for us to know the truth about Jesus and His love for people.
This page is designed to point you in the right direction to be able to learn more about the Bible and what it means today.
Regular activities at Bethesda
There are a whole range of regular activities going on at Bethesda that are designed to help you grow in understanding. From children’s and youth activities to mid week Bible Studies, there is plenty to choose from. Check out the home page for more information.
Family Service - You don’t need to have children to attend our Family Service, or to be coming with others, but we hope that when you come along you’ll feel like part of the family. It runs on a Sunday morning at 11:00 am until between 12:15 and 12:30 pm. There will be a large crowd of all ages and all backgrounds. There will be singing, prayer, an interactive talk with the children in mind and a longer talk aimed at the adults.
If you’re new to the Bible, we will be following a series during October and November called the Bible Course. Over 8 Sunday’s we will learn how different books, characters, and events from the Bible fit together into one big story and apply its teachings to daily life.
We will be able to point you to further resources to do some self learning if you are hungry for more!
Small Group Courses
As well as our regular activities, we run various introductory courses that let people ask questions about God and the Christian faith in a relaxed setting.
Christianity Explored - Over seven sessions, this course focuses on the person of Jesus in the Gospel of Mark. It seeks to answer three core questions: who He is, why He came, and what it means to follow Him.
Guests are never asked to pray, sing, or read aloud, and can choose to simply sit back and listen.
Each 90-minute session features refreshments, a short video or talk, and an open, small-group discussion where any question is welcome. It provides a safe environment to explore deep life questions—such as the problem of suffering—at your own speed.

Hope Explored - At just three sessions, Hope Explored is ideal if time is of the essence. Each session lasts about an hour, combining a short video presentation or talk (looking at Luke's Gospel) with an informal group discussion about the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. The three sessions focus on universal human longings: Hope, peace and purpose.

Taste and See - Taste and see is an opportunity to explore the timeless good news of Jesus with friends through a series of meals. Each meal illustrates part of the grand narrative of the Bible’s storyline. It is an invitation to engage all the senses and experience the beauty of God’s story as we ‘eat our way through the Bible’. Along the way we tap into questions of meaning, purpose and hope and hear God’s invitation to life.
Each week, you will enjoy good food, good conversation, and a thought provoking presentation from the Bible. There will be opportunities to hear personal faith stories, discuss some big ideas, ask questions, raise doubts, or just quietly listen in.

3-2-1 - Using engaging visual media and animations, the 3-2-1 course provides a relaxed space to ask big questions without pressure.
The name "321" stands for three simple ideas about reality:
God (3): Looks at God not as a harsh distant ruler, but as a loving community of Father, Son, and Spirit.
The World (2): Explores how human choices split the world into two paths—living connected to God or wandering away from Him.
You (1): Helps you figure out where you fit in and how you can find rescue, purpose, and a fresh start through Jesus

Meet One to One - Of course you may find meeting with a group intimidating, or your diary might not allow you to join in with other things that are going on, and so we would like to offer to meet you in a local coffee shop to read and chat about the Bible together.

Uncover Luke gives an opportunity to read the Gospel of Luke together and discuss six areas that will help you understand who Jesus is and why He came:
Encounter: Looks at Jesus' birth to explore a reality larger than everyday life.
Hope: Examines moments of crisis to find lasting hope.
Freedom: Explores coming home to God and finding spiritual release.
Transformation: Looks at changed lives through encountering Jesus' love.
Love: Focuses on the profound meaning of Jesus' death.
Trust: Investigates the evidence and implications of the resurrection
If you are interested in meeting someone to read the Bible together in this way, use our contacts page. Simply put “Uncover Luke” in the header and tell us you’d like to read the Bible with someone. We’ll get in touch and find someone suitable to meet up with you.
